Dear Diary

I’ve been thinking about yesterday’s post and how depressing it was. I hate that it was so dour. (Is that the right word?)

I keep looking for silver linings.

I LOVE that my children feel able to talk to me about anything knowing that they will be heard without judgement.

I LOVE that my children laugh at me when I don’t get the joke.

I LOVE that they make fun of me for always talking about being who they are and loving whomever they love because I’ve said it so many times.

I LOVE that they are secure in the love and acceptance they get from me.

These are the important things. To provide your children with security and a sense of being loved is not a small thing.

  On many recent days I think knowing they are so loved and being secure with that knowledge is the only thing holding Child 1 from giving up completely.
